- Soothe tired eyes quickly: Apply cucumber, raw potato or chilled tea bags.
Cucumber juice contains high levels of moisture-retaining potassium, which prevents water evaporating from the skin.
Caution: avoid herbal teabags – they don’t usually contain all-important tannic acid. Ordinary tea bags are better.
- Apply cotton wool pads soaked in chilled milk, this reduces inflammation and is a great, non-irritating moisturiser.
- Avoid sleep lines and creases around the eyes – try sleeping on your back.
- Refresh strained eyes instantly – cover them with your hands for two minutes, and look into the dark.
